This blog is a space to share my journey through the Next Level Fellowship. For my project, I’ll be developing a new body of photographic work which I will be exhibiting at Arts Narrogin. I have a few months to bring this exhibition to life, and I’m really excited to dive into the process.=
It feels so special to have the support and funding to print and display my work. I take a lot of photos, but it’s a much rarer experience to see them as physical prints, in a space, where they can be shared and held in a different way. That feels really meaningful to me.
As part of this project, I’ll be expanding my technical photography skills by having hands on experience shooting both in the studio and on location, working with models, installing artworks, promoting the exhibition and most importantly making the artworks. I want to have a focus on lighting and making sure I am intentional and playful with lighting. I want to see the natural environments in a different way.
I’m especially curious about the relationships between people, cameras, and self-image. I think the work is about personal memory, bodily experiences, having a body, digital art and digital art objects, play, intuition, colour, feeling.. I am finding art making me go a bit insane.
I’ll be working with two mentors. Claire Billie Bushby & Astrid Volkze .
Thanks for following along. I’m so excited to see where this takes me.
